Visit Pearl Harbor from the Big Island of Hawaii
Big Island to Pearl Harbor
The Big Island of Hawaii is the youngest and largest island in the Hawaiian chain. It’s home to five separate shield volcanoes, including Kilauea, one of the world’s most active volcanoes; Mauna Kea, the tallest sea mountain in the world; and Mauna Loa, the world’s largest shield volcano. The sights here are breathtaking, and if you’re a volcano enthusiast or just a lover of the outdoors, it’s no wonder you chose the Big Island as your go-to destination when booking your Hawaii adventure.
It’s not a coincidence that the Big Island is called Hawaii’s Island of Adventure. There’s so much to see and do; there’s plenty to keep you busy exploring for your entire stay! But there’s one place every visitor to the state should experience that’s not located on the Big Island of Hawaii: Pearl Harbor.
Located on the island of Oahu, Pearl Harbor might seem like a destination you won’t be able to see when you’re staying on the Big Island. The logistics of getting there and back might seem like too much work. That’s where we come in!
See More Than You Thought Possible
We offer tours that fly you from Kona, on the Big Island, to Oahu, where you can experience Pearl Harbor first-hand.
After your flight to Honolulu International Airport, your guide takes to Pearl Harbor, where you can explore the Visitor Center, followed by the chance to pay your respects at the USS Arizona Memorial, dedicated to the 1,777 men who lost their lives when their mighty ship exploded and sank.
After this somber experience, feel uplifted as you explore the Battleship Missouri, including the deck where the surrender documents ending World War II were signed. Tours also include admission to the USS Bowfin Submarine Museum and Park. Depending on the specific tour you choose, you can also explore the Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum and USS Bowfin Submarine Museum and Park, or venture out of Pearl Harbor to see more of Oahu itself, including the Hawaii State Capitol, the iconic King Kamehameha Statue, and Iolani Palace, the only royal palace on American soil.
Don’t Book For Yourself
It can be challenging to try booking your own flights and hoping they line up with ground tour times. Leave the logistics to the experts! All you need to do is show up at the airport and board your flight to Honolulu. We’ll handle all the rest. And you’ll get to see one of the most important and historic places in the entire country!
